Creative & Film Work
Alongside my technical career, I’ve built a real body of creative work. It began with photography and expanded into video production, desktop publishing, and audio engineering.
I started as a Behind-The-Scenes (BTS) photographer in North London’s film industry, drawing on the eye I’d developed shooting wildlife. That led to a range of roles on set — Runner, Boom Operator, Camera Operator, Assistant Director, and Second Unit Director. On a film set, the BTS photographer is rarely just a photographer: I worked closely with script supervisors and directors on scene management and continuity — work that rewards a careful eye for detail — and stepped up to First and Second Assistant Director on two productions. I also explored wedding and event photography, covering everything from corporate gatherings to sports.
The need to promote myself and build digital assets pulled me into desktop publishing, and with it Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign — skills that have been useful far beyond photography.

Filmography#
I began building my filmography in early 2010 with After Dark Productions, a company co-owned by a friend. My first role was as a production photographer on a TV advert — a small, seemingly insignificant moment that turned out to be the cornerstone of my work in both film and professional photography.

The business side#
Running TFindley Photography as an independent practice also meant running a small business — day-to-day operations, finance and accounting, and marketing. It’s where a lot of my client-facing and stakeholder instincts were first formed, long before they showed up in my technical roles.
