My Ethical Statement#
AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot) are occasionally used in the creation of content and code on this site.
As AI becomes increasingly mainstream, I believe it is important to be transparent about how and where it is used. Where AI has been used on a piece of content, I include a footer stating this, along with an explanation of how it was used and for what purpose.
Principles#
- My voice, my views. All content on this site represents my own opinions, experiences and perspective. AI is used as a collaborative tool, never as a replacement for my own thinking.
- Transparency. I will always disclose when AI has been used and explain how.
- Human oversight. All AI-assisted output is reviewed, validated and edited by me before publishing.
- No AI-generated imagery. Photographs and visual content on this site are my own work unless otherwise credited. I do not use AI-generated images.
Website Content#
Specific Use#
When AI is used for website content, it is always in a collaborative sense – creating talking points, suggesting structural improvements, and correcting grammar, syntax and tone. I do not use AI to generate complete sections of content wholesale. The ideas, experiences and opinions are always mine; AI helps me express them more clearly.
General Use#
AI is used occasionally to perform content review across the whole site. In these instances, content is never significantly altered beyond what I originally wrote.
Code#
When AI is used for code on this site, in my projects, or my contributions, I work with it collaboratively to produce solutions that I then adapt, validate and test. I do not publish or deploy code that I have not reviewed and understood. AI-assisted code is treated with the same rigour as any code I write myself – it must be correct, secure and maintainable.

AI (Claude) was used to collaboratively draft and refine the language on this page. The principles, policies and positions expressed are entirely my own.
